Issues

The three potential issues that can lead to long term problems are

1) unplanned growth,

2) maintaining existing roads and key infrastructure and

3) building key networks such as healthcare and high speed internet access.

  Wilson County is ideally situated adjacent to San Antonio and the Austin corridor, both of which have experienced tremendous growth in the past few years. We have the unique opportunity to bring industry to our county, plan growth and develop long term maintenance plans to sustain our infrastructure. Yet, we want to honor our agricultural roots and remain rural in nature. This takes a balanced approach to growth ensuring that we invest in our future economic development and improve our existing roads, communications and healthcare networks.
